Get What You Need To Protect Your Products

Shipping products can be a dangerous proposition. Protecting a product during transport is key. If you don't take care with shipping, your product can get marred or destroyed before your customer even gets a chance to look at it. If you plan on handling shipping on your own, you need to make sure that you have the right supplies to protect your shipped goods while in transit.

Bubble Wrap

Bubble wrap can protect delicate products by surrounding them with a cushion of air. There are several different sizes of bubbles to choose from. The smallest bubble wrap has bubbles that are only a few centimeters in diameter, and the largest bubble wrap has bubbles the size of a candy bar. The larger bubbles offer more protection by increasing the amount of air between your product and damaging forces. Thus, if you have a highly fragile vase or statue, you will probably want to use bubble wrap to protect it.

Styrofoam Peanuts

Bubbles are one option, but they may not be the right choice for every situation. Styrofoam peanuts can create a customizable cushion. You can put down a layer of peanuts at the bottom of your box, then put in your fragile product and cover it with a layer of peanuts that extends to the top of your box. This styrofoam should easily absorb and shock your box encounters in transit.

Strap Guards

Protecting your box by placing bubbles or styrofoam on the inside of your box to absorb shock is important, but it is also important to protect your product from the outside. If you use straps to keep the lid on the boxes you are using, the straps can put stress on the corners of the box. A strap or corner guard is a piece of L-shaped plastic which will distribute the pressure of the strap over a greater area so that it is less likely to collapse your box and cause the box to fail and/or damage your product.

When you ship products from your business to a customer, you need to make sure that your package does not get harmed along the way. Damaged products cost your money and do nothing to improve customer relations. Thus, it is worth investing in the right packaging supplies to keep your products safe while in transit. A little extra money spent on the right packing supplies will help you avoid costs in the long run.
