Remove Stains From Leather Furniture In Your Company's Office

Posted on: 23 December 2015

If the leather couch and chairs in your company's office have stains on their surface and each piece of furniture is diminishing the appearance of your work surroundings, clean them by completing the following steps. Once finished, your office will have a more professional appearance, and you and your clients will have a pleasant area to spend time in while completing business transactions.

Materials

  • vinegar
  • mild detergent
  • water
  • spray bottle
  • soft-bristled scrub brush
  • sponge
  • hairdryer
  • leather conditioner
  • buffing pad
  • lint-free cloth

Remove Stains And Clean The Fabric

Add equal amounts of vinegar, mild detergent, and water to a spray bottle. Shake the bottle to mix the contents. Spray the cleaning solution liberally on each stained area on the leather furniture. Wait a few minutes for the cleaning solution to penetrate the fabric to assist with loosening the stains. Move a scrub brush over the stained areas to clean the fabric. Use consistent pressure while doing this and add more of the cleaning solution to the leather if you have difficulty removing any of the stains.

Once the furniture is clean, wipe the treated areas with a damp sponge to remove any of the cleaning solution that remains on the fabric.

Dry The Fabric And Add Conditioner To It

Hold a hairdryer a few inches away from the fabric while it is turned on and adjusted to a high setting. Move the hairdryer back and forth while completing this step. Once the fabric is dry, pour a small amount of leather conditioner onto a buffing pad. Place the pad firmly against each part of the furniture that was cleaned and move it around in small circles.

The conditioner will assist with keeping the fabric soft and pliant. Add more conditioner to the pad if it is needed. After all of the areas have been treated, wipe the pieces of furniture off with a lint-free cloth to remove any excess conditioner. Move a soft brush over each piece of furniture when finished so that the fabric's pile is all lined up evenly.

Protect The Furniture

Reduce the risk of staining in the furniture by keeping each piece protected. Place covers on the pieces of furniture if anyone will be eating or drinking while using them. Get into the habit of vacuuming and brushing the furniture on a regular basis to minimize the chance of dirt becoming embedded in the fibers. These simple steps will help preserve the appearance of the commercial office furniture so that it will last for many years.
